For the last 7 years have been serving as creative director, art director and senior designer role. Designer by trade for 20+ years .

My favorite piece of the creative puzzle is finding inspiration from the most unlikely places, sketching out those ideas and really providing diverse solutions to a clients needs. Pulling inspiration from nature, heavy music, low-brow art, horror films, and kids shows.

Creating a truly original concept is what stands out in the crowd. Pushing the envelope into unexpected places makes for a new refreshing look, among other competitors.

If a few of my tattoos didn’t hint at a love for type, I may have had long sleeves on! Nevertheless, I love letterforms, drawing them, collecting physical type, learning about them. To date, I have created over 15 typefaces. I started creating typefaces in college with the help of an amazing professor and the love has only grown stronger!

I’ve loved drawing from as far back as I can remember (starting around the late eighties)! Inspired by freehand illustration and lettering of early and mid-century modern advertising, illustration is the foundation of my style with a hint of off-register printing of the same era.

Building a community that supports designers and creatives is a way I love to cultivate great designers and their ideas. I enjoy inspiring designers to start concepts with their own ideas with pencil and paper before jumping into the computer. Concepts are where the heart of amazing design is created. Over the last 10 years I’ve co-led a group of typography aficionados/creatives called Monsters of Type. We meet monthly, we talk, hang out, run workshops, create design challenges, and host guest speakers.
